BECOME A SENIOR MEMBER

The Seniors Section at Mountain Ash Golf Club is one of the most vibrant, enthusiastic, inclusive and accessible sections at our club. The section was formed in 1987 and currently has approximately 50 members. Members ages range from 50 years to no upper limit, but our current eldest member is 90 years, who is regularly seen playing the course at least five times every week.

WE PLAY EVERY WEDNESDAY ALL YEAR ROUND

As a section we pride ourselves on being proactive and offer a range of activities. We play every Wednesday, 52 weeks of the year, weather permitting. Generally, up to 30 of us meet at 9 o’clock in the morning, play golf and then gather in the bar area of the club following the golf for a coffee, or something stronger, for a chat and compare the round of golf.

SENIOR GOLF FOR ALL ABILITIES

Our golf is varied and caters for all abilities. We are inclusive and offer a range of competitive and non-competitive opportunities for all. We play a summer league; winter league; seniors individual and pairs competitions; team matches against other clubs. There are up to three away days each year and also increasingly we are playing at other clubs ‘open days’. There is also the opportunity to join us for a summer golf tour. All golf at other courses is within reasonable travelling distances and we are also involved in local charity fund raising, via a golf day, for such organisations as Parkinsons.


No booking requirements are needed for Wednesdays’ golf, just come along to the club. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone, you will soon make friends and be part of our Seniors Section.


Our seniors captain for the current 2024/25 season is Stewart Brassington and the vice-captain is Paul Scannell. If you are interested in joining Mountain Ash Golf Club Seniors Section and are looking to join the club, or are already a member of the club, just turn up on a Wednesday morning, or better still contact the club on 01443 479459, option 1, and ask to be contacted by the Seniors Captain, who will only be too delighted to give you more information about us.
